As we stroll\, we’ll observe and ponder how plants and animals in the Appalachians cope with life in the cold. Why do Christmas Ferns “lay down” for the winter? What is the story with Rhododendron leaf curl in frigid temperatures? What is happening in the leaf litter? How about the streams? We’ll learn that the forest isn’t quite as dormant as it appears at first glance. Meet at 3pm in the parking lot. If the weather looks questionable\, then check the Trust’s Facebook page to see if we are cancelling or postponing. If nothing is posted\, assume it is a go!
