DESCRIPTION:The Jackson County Public Library will host Dr. Michael Wall of Balsam Mountain Trust for a presentation on moths. Moths\, mysterious fairies of the night\, are incredibly diverse. For every species of butterfly\, there are at least seven species of their (mostly) nocturnal cousins\, moths. Pollinators\, prey\, herbivores\, and sometime predators\, moths are critical to healthy ecosystems. Explore the diversity\, ecology\, and behavior of these amazing critters in preparation for National Moth Week (July 20th-28th).

DESCRIPTION:Experience Pinnacle Park at night\, when our scaly-winged friends come out to play.  We’ll be kicking off National Moth Week with “night-lights” set up around the Forest Therapy Trail to attract and photograph moths. You’ll learn about moths and other creatures of the night\, and how you can contribute to community science projects that are documenting these amazing creatures. Meet at 8:30pm in the parking lot.
