SUMMARY:Morel and Ramp Seek and Sample
DESCRIPTION:Some of the best foraging of the year comes in spring when Morel Mushrooms and Ramps both emerge in our woods around the same time. Come with Naturalist Gina Patton to search the Preserve for these two delicacies\, learn ethical harvesting techniques\, and hopefully sample some of what we find back at the Nature Center. Please note\, we cannot guarantee finding and tasting\, but we can guarantee a good hunt and some education. Meet at the Nature Center to carpool/caravan to various locations.

DESCRIPTION:Join Amy and an intrepid group of Weed Warriors to tackle a patch of invasive Multiflora rose which is threatening the beautiful native plant community of one of the true gems of the Preserve: Willett’s Hornblende Slope\, a designated NC Natural Heritage Area. Bring thick gardening/work gloves and hand tools if you have them (we’ll have extras to share)\, and a water bottle. We’ll take some time to admire the spring wildflowers while we’re out there!
