Bumblebee Hunt!

The Preserve falls within a “priority” grid square for the Southeast Bumblebee Atlas, organized by the Xerces Society. Join Michael for a bumblebee hunt. We’ll safely capture and release bumblebees to document the diversity and abundance of our fuzzy friendly pollinators. Why bumblebees? First, they are cute. Second, bumblebees worldwide seem to be on the decline. This atlas helps folks like the Xerces Society make data-based recommendations and best management practices to help conserve our fuzzy friends.
