Adopt-a-School
In in Jackson or Haywood County, NCAdopt-A-School Program
Dive into the amazing world around us and the animals we share it with, with our 3-part program series for 4th grade. Balsam Mountain Trust partners with local businesses to provide standards-based wildlife education presentations at no cost to local Title I elementary schools. Our Adopt-A-School Program pairs a local business sponosr with an elementary school in Jackson or Haywood County. We will take students out of the textbook and into memorable learning by bringing live animals, interesting biofacts, and passionate educators to your school, free of charge thanks to our local business sponsors and our partnership with AmeriCorps CTNC. During each visit, students will learn about different kinds of animals (invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals)— all while mixing in conservation and environmental science elements.
