Moths: The Natural History of Nature’s Nightshift

July 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Jackson County Public Library will host Dr. Michael Wall of Balsam Mountain Trust for a presentation on moths. Moths, mysterious fairies of the night, are incredibly diverse. For every species of butterfly, there are at least seven species of their (mostly) nocturnal cousins, moths. Pollinators, prey, herbivores, and sometime predators, moths are critical to healthy ecosystems. Explore the diversity, ecology, and behavior of these amazing critters in preparation for National Moth Week (July 20th-28th).
